Pond design starts with a site visit and discussion. Maybe you have a clear idea of what you would like or for some components, materials or textures and colours. We can work with you to bring that to life. Alternatively we can provide suggestions, guidance and advice on what would look nice in your setting.
We can design a pond or water feature to compliment your existing garden or design a landscape around your new pond or water feature. This can include any peripheral landscaping including: stonework, paving, decking, walls, beds, rockeries or gravel gardens and more.
Wildlife pond design & construction:
We design and build wildlife ponds that function as an ecosystem; using nature’s principles to help maintain a beautiful aquatic environment where wildlife thrives. These ponds can be fully lined with stone and pebble to give a fully natural effect. Some people would like to see more wildlife, others enjoy a constantly evolving seasonal landscape, why not have both. Seeing the increase in biodiversity is worth the investment alone; a wide variety of fauna are likely to arrive over time including: frogs, newts, toads, insects, and birds and mammals using your new water source as a home and resource. We plant our wildlife ponds up with a mixture of wildlife friendly plants around the margins and within the pond. We can also create new planting beds around your pond. Plants bring a variety of colours to the pond, they add structure and soften the stone construction providing shelter, food and habitat for the wildlife.
Fish pond design & construction:
We design and build beautiful ecosystem fish ponds. When we say fish pond many envisage a sterile environment: black liner maintained by an unsightly filter unit and visible pipework. It doesn’t have to be that way!
We design and build beautiful functional fish ponds that allow you to enjoy your fish within a natural environment. Traditional fish ponds cannot compare with a natural looking pond environment where the fish are part of a living ecosystem where they interact with nature and you can be a part of it. It is a great stress relief to come home and hand feed your favourite fish or simply watch them glide around your beautiful pond.
We set up our fish ponds in the same way as our wildlife ponds so that you gain a tranquil refuge from the everyday world where you can watch your new pets thrive.
Additional pond styles and features:
We design and construct raised ponds in sleeper, stone, brick and block with pergolas and windows. Why not include feature stones for dipping or feeding, pebble beaches, stepping stones or a bridge to get you closer to the action. An overhanging deck would allow you to drop your feet in on a warm day, pond dip for interest or education and hand feed and interact with your fish. A stone patio edging the pond can allow you to dine or pull up a chair and relax within full view of your water garden. Why not add lighting to allow full enjoyment of your pond and waterfall in to the evening and night. We also provide supply and installation of pond equipment including filtration systems or components: Filters, pumps, aerators, algae and blanket weed control and more.
Waterfall and stream features:
We design and build natural looking streams and waterfalls constructed with the same stone and pebble. These add another dimension to the pond with the sound and movement of water. Its a pleasure to watch the birds bathing in your water feature.
For those who want the sound and motion of water but would rather not have the standing water of a pond we offer the ‘pondless waterfall’ a waterfall and or stream that appears like a spring at the top and disappears into a dry creek pebble bed. These beautiful natural stone and pebble features not only look great but are also child friendly, help mask background noise and are a very low maintenance option.
Pond re-design and restoration:
We also offer pond re-design, re-imagining and restoration services. If you have a tired or problematic pond give us a call and we can talk to you about how we can convert or re-build your existing pond to give you a beautiful new feature that you can start to enjoy again. If your water level is dropping we may be able to source the leak and offer a repair service to resolve this issue.
